Hook-in-2-Hockey (Minkey) – Grade 1 and 2

North Coast Raiders is proud to support Australia’s National Recruitment Program Hookin2Hockey (Minkey) forpicture 6 our Under 7’s. The Hookin2Hockey program is a fun and exciting way to get involved in playing the great game of hockey. 

Hookin2Hockey (Minkey) is Hockey Australia’s national recruitment program; thousands of children from all over the country have already enjoyed an awesome introduction to hockey through the program.

Parents can register children online to enjoy themselves in a safe community environment. There is also the opportunity to get involved in coaching kids by getting a free nationally recognised HockeyEd Community coaching accreditation.

The prpicture 5ogram is run by local hockey clubs including North Coast Raiders and can also be included as part of your schools sport participation program, during or after school.

Hookin2Hockey runs Saturday mornings at Charles Riley Reserve between 8 and 10 am, with each session having a focus skills development. Groups are selected based on ability level and the sessions move to small-sided games as players develop. Games and skills sessions start at either 8 or 9 am and run for about an hour. There is no training.

There is also opportunity to play in inter-club carnivals during the year.

 

Nines Program – Grade 3 and 4

The nines competition is a modified game played on a ¾ field with
nine players on field. Players can be in grade 3 or 4. NCR has some flexibility with ages of children playing in this competition.

The program is the next step after Hin2Hockey (Minkey).

Games start at either 8 am or 9 am on Saturday’s at Charles Riley Reserve and the games go for about an hour. Training is one afternoon a week for an hour.

There is also opportunity to play in inter-club carnivals during the year.
